Transact Pro to support world-class rugby broadcasting for viewers in Latvia and other Baltic States
Transact Pro has signed a four-year cooperation agreement with Viasat Sport Baltic for the rights to broadcast world-class rugby games live on Viasat Sport Baltic LV and Viaplay channels.
In the next four years, viewers in the Baltic States will have the opportunity to watch live broadcasts of the Six Nations Championship as well as friendly matches played by Scotland, Ireland, Argentina and Wales. The rugby tournaments will take place in February, March, July and November.
On Saturday, 3 February, matches between Wales and Scotland and France and Ireland to take place in Cardiff and Paris respectively will mark the beginning of the oldest rugby union competition in the world — the Six Nations Championship. The first tournament took place in 1883 as the Home Nations Championship, played between teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. With the addition of France, it became the Five Nations Championship and since 2000, when Italy joined, it has been known as the Six Nations Championship. Last year’s winner, England, will have to defend its title for the second time in a row following two consecutive championship wins.
Transact Pro’s work within the FinTech industry is developing as fast as rugby and is just as dynamic. The company signed a cooperation agreement with Viasat Sport Baltic to give viewers from Latvia and other Baltic States the chance to enjoy live broadcasts of world-class rugby matches.
Transact Pro has been a supporter of rugby since 2010 and over the last few years has implemented an extensive support programme for youth rugby to promote tag rugby in secondary schools.
